A lifelong creative, Deborah Cota pursues diverse projects and directions, including photography and simple dwelling design. Based in Evergreen, Colorado, her passions for visual expression, all things design, community and nature fuel her creativity and aesthetic.

Her varied experience includes architectural and interiors photography, lifestyle photography, creative direction in the visual arts and furniture design. Deborah’s love of simple dwelling design and space planning, nurtured during her undergraduate studies at Purdue University and The University of Copenhagen, has manifested in design/build projects, including new construction and remodeling projects, from initial concept development and design to the final execution.

Designing and building her own right-sized home in the foothills of Colorado, became a reality in the past four years. An owner-built, all-hands-on-deck collaboration with family members, during the pandemic. Yes, she would do it again, in a hearbeat. Deborah looks forward to collaborating professionally with like-minded small-dwelling enthusiasts and entrepreneurs to bring her unique experience and talents to new projects.

In her personal time, Deborah embraces time with her daughter, extended family and friends, xeriscape gardening, and exploring Colorado’s trails and outdoors. Deborah’s formative years were spent primarily in the midwest and has lived and worked in Miami, Florida, New York City, and Colorado.
